Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to log in or connect my Spotify account?
No. The extension works directly with the Spotify web player. Just make sure you're logged in to
open.spotify.com in your browser — the extension handles the rest automatically.
Can I export albums as well as playlists?
Yes! The extension works with both playlists (including Liked Songs) and albums. Just navigate to any album page and the extension will detect it.
Does it work with very large playlists?
Yes. For playlists with more songs than what loads initially, the extension automatically fetches the remaining tracks in the background. You'll see a progress bar while it works.
Why does the extension say "Login credentials expired"?
This happens when your Spotify session token expires. Simply refresh the Spotify page in your browser, and the extension will pick up the new session automatically. You can also click the "Refresh current page" button in the side panel.
What's the difference between the three export formats?
Text gives you a simple, readable file that opens anywhere. Excel creates a proper spreadsheet with columns and formatting. JSON exports the complete raw data — ideal if you want to process it further or import it into another tool.
Does the JSON format respect my field settings?
No. JSON export always includes all available data for every track, regardless of which fields you've toggled on or off. This ensures you get the complete dataset when using JSON.
The extension didn't detect my playlist. What should I do?
If you installed the extension after opening Spotify, you need to refresh the page once. Click the "Refresh current page" button in the side panel, or press
F5 on the Spotify tab. After that, navigate to any playlist and it will be detected automatically.
Is there a charge for this extension?
We want to be upfront with you. Behind this extension are real costs — keeping the service reliable, fixing bugs, adding new features, and providing support when you need it. The fee helps us cover these costs so we can continue improving your experience. We offer a free trial so you can make sure it's right for you before committing.
The extension stopped working after a Chrome update. How do I fix it?
Go to Chrome's extension management page (Chrome menu → More tools → Extensions) and click the refresh icon on the extension card. Then refresh the Spotify page.
